Brinsley Carnival has consisted of a carnival parade, with events, side shows, amusements on the village recreation ground and before that village common land for 50 years since it was restarted in 1960, it has been in existence for many years previous with gaps during the wars and originally started life as a Hospital Parade..
If you were a Brinsley Carnival Queeen from 1960 to 2009, please get in touch, we would love to see you at the carnival and present you to the visitors, if you still have your dress all the better.
In the summer of 1940, the German Luftwaffe attempted to win air superiority over southern Britain and the English Channel by destroying the Royal Air Force and the British aircraft industry.
Thanks to the few, they didn't succeed.
