Brinsley Carnival

Newsletter Spring 2008

WOW! We made it!

We weren’t sure the new format would take off but the 2007 Carnival went down a storm: 7 fantastic entrants to the parade, with absolutely wonderful costumes and props. The parade stretched from Brinsley Church to Broad Lane!!!! We really hope you’re all proud of yourselves; there have been nothing but complimentary comments so far, and you all looked great – especially the winners, “The Pirates of Church Walk”, who scooped a prize of £500!  See yourselves on the website (www.brinsleycarnival.com): great pix from the Day!
Again this year we had amazing sponsorship, which we used to provide fantastic prizes for the parade competition. Hopefully we will have similar gestures next year, so get planning your carnival parade entry NOW!

And much more…

The Carnival relies entirely on goodwill: from the few volunteers who make it happen, the sponsors whose generosity provides the funds, the folks who get together to enter the Parade – and YOU, the people of Brinsley. If you have ideas to offer, or time, or just about anything else which will help the Carnival to continue, please do call any of the team: we’d love to hear from you! Don’t forget Fathers Day, 15th June 2008 = Brinsley Carnival

We aim each year to distribute as much money as possible to charities and organisations within Brinsley which contribute to the quality of village life. If you are a local good cause and wish to apply to Brinsley Carnival for funding in 2008, please complete the form below.

We will hold a presentation at the carnival, where we will be presenting the cheques to the successful applicants, the official presentation of the Violet O’Neil Trophy to the winning parade entry and the Tom Thorpe Trophy to the runner up.
