We no longer have traditional(?) floats due to the working time directive for the drivers and EU regs on insurance, so for the last two years we have had a walking parade, this has proved very popular with groups making the most fantastic props, this year we had a whole egyptian pyramid!!, check out the gallery pages to see the most ingenious and well made costumes.
It's a NEW route, this year the parade was from Hall Lane, along Church Lane (A608) pass Moorlands nursing home, past the Carnival field to the far entrance, where the parade made it's entrance to the arena, don't worry its just short of 1/2 hours slow walk.
Broad Lane was sadly missed out this year, but we hope to add a New Brinsley route next year.
The results of the parade groups judging was announced on stage.
So, NO! excuses for 2009, NO hassle finding a lorry, NO early morning start to dress the float and NO missing all the action after the parade dismantling your float.
Each team is a minimum of 10 people, adults and/or children, please make a banner (2 clothes props and a sheet will do) and dress your members in the theme of your choice.
